"Change is the only constant"
This ancient proverb resonates well with what is happening now in emerging media technology.
The industry is constantly having to reinvent itself, now at a faster pace than ever before. The challenge is today’s changes are no longer orderly and gradual. They are swift and chaotic.
At Jargon we believe that the key to navigating the chaos lies in minding our “P”s -“P” as in Process, People and Prevention. With over nine years of experience collaborating with content creators, creative groups and device manufacturers, our people have developed a rigorous, repeatable and resilient software development process that takes a preventative approach to defects ensuring successful products on divergent platforms. Mind your Ps and Qs will follow is our everyday motto!
Our Development process begins at the preconception stage. Working with content creators, Jargon helps validate product concepts at the very point of origin, often times collaborating side-by-side in front of a whiteboard brainstorming ideas.
During the product design stage, Jargon works to identify and eliminate risk at the earliest point possible. Content creators present visual wire-frames and mock-up designs to Jargon to discuss implementation feasibility and ensure conformance to the platform specification. If the application requires a new and innovative feature on the platform, Jargon will perform R&D at this stage and report findings to the client. The earlier issues can be identified, the more successfully the project can be executed. If device issues are identified during this stage, Jargon can contact the device manufacturers directly and communicate to the client when any updates may be released to resolve the issue.
During the implementation stage, Jargon follows the Agile software development methodology, and we ensure that there are many iterations of product for the client to review throughout this stage.
We have a multitude of hardware devices in house for testing, and we work with third party Quality Control facilities to ensure that our product is free of defects.
That’s why our process does not just end at the point of product delivery. We understand that issues may arise during the final stages of a launch and post launch as new devices get introduced and old devices require updates. We monitor our application’s health after it hits the market and continue to work with our clients to resolve any issues.
